If you are a new patient at either of our practice locations or have not been seen with us in more than 3 years, we will begin with a comprehensive examination of your teeth and gums in order to create a treatment plan that is customized for your unique oral needs. Your visit will include low radiation digital x-rays, a full mouth exam, and an oral cancer screening. Our team will also tell you what you need to know about home care between visits.
Regular hygiene appointments are critical when it comes to keeping your teeth and gums healthy. The accumulation of plaque and calculus (“hard plaque” or “tartar”) around the teeth and under the gums can cause a cascade of dental problems such as tooth decay, gingivitis, periodontitis, bone loss, halitosis (“bad breath”), and tooth loss. Cleanings rid the mouth of harmful bacteria and buildup, leading to exceptional oral health. When you make an appointment at one of our locations, our hygienists will give you a professional cleaning. Regular recall visits will give you peace of mind that your oral health is taken care of and ensure that your teeth and gums stay strong.
Fluoride treatments are used to halt and even reverse early stage decay in order to protect your teeth from further damage. Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that has the ability to encourage tooth remineralization and strengthen enamel. Treatment includes application of a Fluoride Varnish to the surfaces of the teeth. If we notice “soft spots” on your teeth or think you are a good candidate, we’ll suggest a fluoride treatment to keep your teeth strong and healthy.
