Morris & Jeftic, PC is a fresh approach to the dentist experience, offering a multi-dimensional range of dental care that better encompasses the inside-out of beauty.
We are the Preferred Invisalign Provider. Invisalign uses a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners created for each patient specifically. The virtually invisible aligners gradually and gently reposition teeth into place, based on the exact movements we have planned out for the patient. The process typically takes twelve to fifteen months. Patients remove aligners to eat, brush and floss, and have the freedom to remove them briefly for special events. Aligners are changed every two weeks and patients schedule office visits with the doctor every six weeks to review progress and receive new aligners.
The doctor will determine whether or not you are a candidate for Invisalign.
Dental implants are one option for replacing missing or badly diseased teeth. An implant and the artificial tooth it supports are stable and comfortable. The combined restorative system is the closest to a natural tooth. Implants are manufactured "anchors" that look like cylinders or screws. Treatment generally is a two or three-part process that takes between several weeks to several months to complete. First, surgery is performed to place the anchor. Some implants require a second surgery in which a post is attached to connect the anchor to the replacement teeth. With other implants, the anchor and post are already attached and are placed at the same time. The implant surgery typically is less invasive and produces less post-operative discomfort than a single tooth extraction. Finally, after the gums have healed, the artificial teeth are fabricated, adjusted as necessary and placed onto the post. All of these steps require healthy bone and gums and a commitment to meticulous hygiene and regular dental visits.
We offer both at-home and in-office bleaching options, including Zoom2! Whitening, as seen on the popular TV show Extreme Makeover .
Patients can jump-start the whitening process in a little over an hour with Zoom2! in-office bleaching. During this procedure, the dentist applies a protective gel to the gums to protect soft tissue. A bleaching agent is then applied to the teeth and a special light is used to enhance the action of the agent. Patients who opt for in-office whitening will also receive custom bleaching trays to be used at home for increased results.
Patients that would like to bleach at home need to visit our office for dental impressions so we can make custom bleaching trays. The trays are typically ready within a few days and patients can begin bleaching right away. A gel containing peroxide whiteners is placed in the trays and worn overnight until the patient achieves their desired result.
Our office currently uses ScanX software for digital images. There are many advantages to using digital x-rays, which use a fraction of the radiation of traditional x-rays. Digital x-rays are processed instantly so the doctor and patient can observe them immediately. We are able to enhance the images by making them darker or larger, for example, in order to help detect any abnormalities. In addition, digital images are easily stored in our computer system, can be retrieved quickly, and can be printed or sent via e-mail to other clinicians.
Intraoral Camera and Digital Photography
Intraoral cameras and digital photography provide an invaluable tool for involving patients in their treatment. Most cameras can magnify images at a significant level, allowing the dentist to better see abnormalities. Intraoral camera images can be shown on a computer screen so the patient can review their diagnosis along with the doctor. This aids tremendously in educating patients and explaining treatment options. Intraoral cameras and digital photographs also allow us to have a permanent record of a patient's condition prior to treatment and enable us to show a patient "before and after" photos. In addition, adding photo documentation to an insurance claim can often help expedite processing of the claim.
We respect our environment. Therefore, we no longer place metal fillings with mercury. All of our fillings are tooth-colored. Whenever possible, our crowns are all ceramic or yellow-gold restorations, depending on the patient's preference.
Our caring and experienced staff performs routine and surgical extractions, as well as orthodontic extractions and wisdom teeth removal.
